Twined Introspection brings together a combination of mixed media works, including printmaking, textiles, ceramics, sculpture and installation. Each woman in Pussy Willow Power Collective draws on her lived experience of complex trauma, creating an intertwining and weaving between the artists and subject matters they explore. Male violence against women and children is distressingly common and under-acknowledged. Paradoxically, it is both sensationalised and swept under the carpet. Every trauma is individual but there are common themes. Any vulnerable expression of trauma opens the possibility for responsiveness and understanding. The individual and collective works form a dynamic dialogue of revealing and concealing that invites reflection from the audience as they thread their way through the exhibit.
